Romano Buratti

Romano Buratti was born in Cesena in 1937 and studied at a local vocational training school where Giannetto Malmerendi was his teacher of expressive arts. He then attended a two-year optional course at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ravenna where he was taught by Maestro Folli. For many years now he has been interested in humorous graphics, doing free-lance work for newspapers and magazines.
Between 1974 and 1984 he won several awards for the competitions which he took part in, thus gaining the unreserved approval of audience and critics alike. From 1976 to the present date his works have appeared in numerous collective and personal exhibitions in Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria and America, with extremely favourable reviews in newspapers and on television.
His works are on permanent exhibition in prestigious European galleries as well as public and private collections; furthermore his name is featured in the most important Italian and European catalogues and journals.
